Sarah Made HST Throw Quilt Kit – Chore Coat and Toweling

This is fabric a throw size Half Square Triangle Quilt as shown. This is fabric for the quilt top only.

Because this quilt is made using chore coat, I highly recommend using a very small stitch length when sewing and using a generous 1/4″ seam allowance.

This does not come with a quilt pattern, so please read below for details. Experience making HSTs 8 at time is recommended.

This quilt is made using the 8 at a time HST method. From each of the (9) feature fabrics, cut (2) 14″ squares, for a total of (18) squares. From the background fabric, cut (6) 14″ x WOF strips, and subcut (18) 14″ squares from them. Using the 8-at-a-time HST method, sew a background square to a feature fabric square and then trim each square to 6.5″, which will make a finished size of 6″ once sewn in.

There are many patterns that can be made using HSTs. See the gallery of images for some optional layouts.

I used this woven for binding. For backing options, please contact me.
